Exclusive: This is ‘iPhone XS’ — design, larger version, and gold colors confirmed

Earlier today Apple officially announced when and where it will hold its next big event. Apple’s September 12th event is expected to include the introduction of three new iPhones, and 9to5Mac can exclusively share the first look at both new 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED iPhones: the iPhone XS.
We believe that the new 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhones will both be called iPhone XS. We also believe iPhone XS will come in a new gold color option not previously offered on the new design. Apple leaked its own gold version of the iPhone X through the FCC, but it has not been available to purchase.
Other details are still to be determined, but we can report with certainty that iPhone XS will be the name, the OLED model will come in two sizes including a larger version, and each will be offered in gold for the first time.
Apple is also expected to unveil the new Apple Watch Series 4 at the same media event. Stay tuned for more details in that space.

Apple will officially unveil the iPhone XS next month on September 12 and likely release both before the end of September.

Apple Announces New iPhone Launch Date
With an invitation that looks remarkably like the layout of its new head office, Apple has requested the attention of the world (and a hand-picked list of attendees) to the Steve Jobs Theater on Wednesday September 12th at 10 am Pacific. But what could it on display?
This year, there may be three iPhone's with, potentially, radically different designs and an all-screen iPad Pro with Face ID. Not to mention the long-awaited AirPower charging pad and the fourth-generation Apple Watch. There may be a new MacBook of some kind, likely an entry-level model which could replace the MacBook Air. And maybe even AirPods 2, to boot.

New iPhone 2018: everything you need to know on the latest iPhone leaks.

There will probably be more than one new iPhone.

If you're looking for information on a new iPhone, you've come to the right place. In fact, we're expect three new iPhone's to launch, with two premium new iPhone models and a potentially more affordable option as well.
The first new iPhone model is rumored to be an upgrade to the iPhone X, and it'll arrive alongside a larger version of Apple's most premium smartphone to date.
Plus there's a third new iPhone on the cards, and it's tipped to be a cheaper device that could make the range a little more accessible.
Things are getting a little confusing, what with the sheer quantity of new iPhone leaks and rumors regarding three devices with yet-to-be-confirmed names. Luckily, we're here to help you make sense of all the new iPhone news.
We have detailed pages on all three rumored new iPhone's, and you can find overviews and links to them below.

New iPhone 2018 launch date

Apple has yet to send out invites to its annual September special event, but we've gone through its iPhone launch history and studied the 2018 calendar to work out when we expect the new iPhone 2018 launch to happen.

iPhone X Plus leak confirms Apple’s design ahead of September release

iPhone X Plus leak confirms Apple’s design ahead of September release

In a little over a month, Apple is expected to reveal the next version of the iPhone. Many are predicting a larger ‘iPhone X Plus’ type handset that will have the same all-screen design as the current iPhone X but with a 6.5-inch screen.

This seems to have been further confirmed by Apple fans digging through the framework for Apple’s PassKit UI system on the latest version of iOS 12 beta.

The framework has glyph (icons) that can be used do designate devices for payments if a company or app wants to use Apple Pay. And it appears that iOS 12 just gave the game Away.

As well as showing the iPhone X Plus outline, Guilherme Rambo, an iOS developer, also came across an icon design for a new iPad.

He calls it the 2018 iPad Pro which, as he points out, is much squarer than previous designs of the tablet.

Whilst the leak is not 100% evidence of Apple’s plans, it chimes with rumours it’s going to release an iPhone X with a 6.5-inch screen as well as the 5.8-inch standard model.

When will the new iPhone be released?
If Apple sticks to is usual patterns, we can expect to see a new iPhone in September. Of course, that’s basically all we know for sure at this point. Apple is expected to release two high end iPhones and a cheaper one.

What will the next iPhone be called?
We’re not sure. Apple’s naming schedule has been thrown into disarray because it released the iPhone X at the same time as the iPhone 8. Could this mean a cheaper iPhone 9 will be released alongside the iPhone X, 11, X2 or whatever else it will be called? It’s not clear yet.

What features will the new iPhone have?

It’s likely that we’re not going to see any huge changes, because of the massive release of the X last year. However, one rumour suggested we will see a range of crazy colours on offer. The technology fitted into Apple’s iPhone X could also find its way into cheaper models, which could mean bigger screens without adding to the size of the device because the ‘bevel’ framing it can be removed or reduced in size.
